EMPLOYERS

EMPLOYERS

Invest in employees, prevent diabetes today.

Today’s employers are increasingly aware that healthy employees are good for business. Not only are healthy employees less likely to miss work, but they are more productive while they’re there. As an increasingly common, chronic illness, type 2 diabetes is one of the most costly medical expenditures for employers. As many as 1 out of 3 employees is likely to have prediabetes, the precursor to type 2 diabetes.

But there is good news: Type 2 diabetes is worth the cost of prevention! Prediabetes is a window of opportunity to prevent or delay diabetes by taking action. National Diabetes Prevention Programs are cost-effective lifestyle interventions that can be implemented in the workplace and can reduce development of type 2 diabetes by 58%. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has created a cost savings calculator to give you an idea how much you could save by implementing the program.
